Today is often called Blue Monday, supposedly one of the most depressing days of the year. Whilst there is no scientific fact behind this, many of us do feel more morose due to the lack of sunshine and dreary weather. The Samaritans have renamed it 'Brew Monday' to remind us that the small things can make a world of difference for our mood.
Here are Ace's top tips to get you through dreary January:
- Have a cup of tea. Warm your hands and heart with a lovely brew. A splash of milk and two sugars for Dan and Jack, if you're making one!
- Get moving. Put some music on and dance around the house or go for a brisk walk. The endorphins from exercise will do you the world of good.
- Call a loved one. A good chinwag with good company can be all you need sometimes to put the world to rights.
- Let more natural daylight in. Natural light has been shown to improve your mood, and clean windows will help make the most of the winter sunshine! We're only a message away if you need a brighter view this January.
